Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She covers everything, starting with NASA, Space Force, Space Force and commercial space companies to the advent of Space Tourism. Being the daughter of 2 NASA astronauts Kristin has a background in the space industry and was a part of the space industry for five years, covering the Trump and Biden Space policies of the administration as a White House Correspondent for FOX News. She also covered the presidential election in 2020 and efforts by two administrations in fighting the coronavirus. She traveled extensively with both the President and Vice-President included a trip exclusive to Afghanistan, which she took together with Donald Trump. Kristin worked her way through the local news markets of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before being hired by the CBS network. Kristin was the recipient of one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as the CBS affiliate's single-man reporter. With her experience in front of the camera Kristin established Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company focused on making documentary-style movies for corporate clients including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. Her current residence is Washington, D.C. with her husband, and their three-year old daughter.
